Default Noise when in neutral

My F3 is making a rattling noise when I'm in neutral and let the clutch out. If I pull the clutch in, the noise goes away. Also, the clutch handle is only active from 0% to 50% pulled in... the final 50-100% travel is pretty much dead space.

What possible adjustments should I try?

(yes, i've searched the boards some, but i'm not a very experienced mechanic, and don't know exactly what I'm looking for)

The noise is the Clutch basket, this query comes up often. No adjustment, as it's perfectly normal.

Could also be your CCT. Mine makes a full on rattle from the right side with clutch out and no rattle clutch in. Check you clutch cable as well as may be streched. Could be the clutch basket but it is unlikely unless the bike has been abused (wheelied/stunted)

Thank you all for the response. I've had the bike for 10 years and it hasn't been stunted or abused too much.

It shouldnt matter if the clutch is engaged or disengaged for the CCT to be making noise.
Its either making noise or it doesnt.

Hmmm.. odd. just my 0.02... With mine the cct only rattled with the clutch out. Never with the clutch in... A manual cct sorted it no problem.

My clutch pack does the same deal. Not a problem.

I asked this not too long ago because mine does the same thing. My boyfriend agrees that it's the clutch basket and nothing to worry about. The way he explained it makes sense, and I tend to take his advice over anyone else.

i haven't changed my CCT just yet but I'm pretty sure this will sort my problem too based on the location of the noise.
