No Head or Tail lights

No Head or Tail lights
Both head and tail lights will not turn on when I turn the Key on now. I checked the fuses and they are ok, also checked the bulbs and they check out good also. Pulled out my repair manual and looked at the wiring schematic but its a little hard to read. Just burnt up my volt meter so until I go out to get another one I really cant check for continuity to see if one of the wires have some how been broken. Tested head light by hooking it directly to the battery and it came on, tested the tail light by pressing the brakes. At this point I'm stumped, any thoughts fellow F3 riders?

Actually, I disconnected that wiring harness for the starter switch and started checking for continuity on each of the wires but was unable to finish due to my volt meter going bad. I'm headed out now to buy another one.
A few weeks back I was installing some new custom grips and I had to take apart the switch housing and disconnected the throttle cables to to install them on the new grips, so I'm thinking also that that's where the problem must be. All the wires look like their still connected though. I'll let you know when I get the new meter.
