so i stripped down the bike and swapped coils. i found a plug wire that was a little lose. i got all 4 cylinders to spark now and it runs perfect. now i see i have smoke coming out of the exhaust. i thought at first it was burning off the excess gas that was there from a dead cylinder but i took it around the block and it just got worse the faster i went. when i parked it i checked the exhaust and it doesn't smell like burnt oil but i don't smell gas anymore either. now i have to find out what this problem is.

well it looks like i will be pulling the motor and rebuilding it. i have to clean out my garage to do it. that should be a fun task.
