where to get parts

Default where to get parts

im looking for piston rings. i searched bikebandit.com and found them but it doesn't say it if is a 4 piston set or just for 1 piston. anyone know where i can look and find out more?

I looked at the online parts fiche for my local dealer. They have them listed for a 96 f3 at $36.51 each. You need a quantity of 4. I would guess that bikebandit would be the same, IE you need 4 of the set they have listed.

damn, that is what i thought. i was hoping i was just reading the quantity wrong. i found them for $32 a set. that is so crazy and i didn't want to spend that much. oh well. guess ill just have to spring for the parts.

Check Service Honda, they've got them for $25.66 a set.

my98gtvr4, I read your other topic about having bike problems and was just curious if you happen to do a leak down or compression test prior to tear down. If so could you post some numbers? Also, have you found anything wrong internally, like a broken ring, etc...?

my first run is going to be a compression test. im going to do that over the weekend. it doesn't sound like anything broke and when i did an oil change i checked the oil for metal and there wasn't any. im then going to check the head gasket and see what i can find out. could a bad head gasket cause the white smoke?
