Question neutral problem???

i have a problem with my 95 f3 where the bike will be in neutral but the light will flicker and when i try to put the kick stand down while the bike is still running it will shut off. also if the bike is off and in neutral and i try n turn it on i have to put the kick stand up to turn it on. anyone have the same problem or have an idea? thanks!

I have the same problem. I first thought it was my kickstand switch, so I replaced it and that didn't fix it. I plan on working on my bike this weekend and thats the first thing I'm going to figure out. I'll check back to see if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks. if i come up with a solution i'll post it. im thinking maybe the kick stand switchis stuck or not making contact or grounding properly.

that sounds like it would be your neutral sensor instead of your kickstand. the light obviously still works and your bike acts like its always in gear which would be why your bike shuts off if the kickstand is down and why it wont start for you unless the kickstand is up.

yea at times the neutral light will be on witout the flickering and it will start with kickstand down but after driving it around i'll put the bike into neutral and the light will flicker and i put the kickstand down n the bike shuts off as if it was in gear and i put the stand down.

If it isn't a bad neutral switch, the circuit is grounding out somewhere.

Hey reebotx,

Been out of town on business, was wonder if you got a chance to mess with yours? Conrice, and marc0011 may be on to something with that neutral switch going bad. let me know, thanks.

Definitely the neutral switch, the kickstand switch is working fine otherwise it wouldn't turn off when the kickstand is down, and it wouldn't keep running when you let the clutch out.
