I have a 96 cbr 600 f3 and i need to lower the height of it by about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch and was wondering if anyone knew of a simple way to do it or if i just needed to take it to a shop.

 

You can lower the front by sliding the fork tubes on the triple clamps. For the rear end, I've seen lowering dog boneson eBay. You might also be able to find a custom seat that would give the 1/4 to 1/2 clearance your needing.

 

Who ever had my bike before me droped the front about an inch. I think that all you need is the front lowered. Just makes sure that you have both sides exact or your bike will pull to one side and will make handling harder. My friends dad did it to hisF4 and you now have to fight the bike when you ride it.
