Default Lower seat height...

I have read about "shaving the seat" but I can't find a thread that really explains how to do it.
I'm interested in getting my feet flat on the ground on my 2005 F4i. I'm only 5'6", so I need to adjust the bike a little to make it happen. I'd prefer not to lower the suspension and mess with the way it rides/handles.

Let me know,
Thanks,
Jon

take an electric carving knife and shave the seat foam. you obviously have to remove the cover and reattach it.
seems like too much work for a 1/2"

you really don't need to flat foot a sportbike, just tip toe is enough.....and you shouldn't be wearing heels when your name is "jon"

I agree, you don't need to be flat footed. I'm also 5'6" and even got the Corbin seat which makes the seat wider. Most of the time I just lean slightly to one side or tiptoe, no problem. IMO, shaving off foam would make that brick of a stock seat even more uncomfortable.

take it to an upholestry shop if you are worried about messing it up. My friends girlfriend had an sv650 and she couldn't hardly hold it up she was so short and she had a shop do it for like $50

Actually you're wrong you can tip toe anything you feel comfortable tip toeing there are no laws or rules about what can and cannot be done with your feet but thanks for playing.
