Default Need HELP with electrical problem!

Recently I decided to switch out my fairings, since my old ones were majorly damaged in a fall. I figured since I was taking everything off and had to repaint my gas tank, it would be best to also take the battery out. When I went to place my battery back in, I got the cables mixed up and *spark*. Anyway, now I have no power what-so-ever. My battery is still putting out 12 volts (checked with voltmeter), and my cables seem to have the full 12 volts (also checked with voltmeter). I have no dash lights, no horn, no starter click...no nothing! If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears!!!!!!

should be underneath your right handlebar clip on, little black plastic cover on top of side
its probably the 30a main fuse

I think you meant to say it's on the Starter Relay next to the battery. For a total system power loss, that's where to start looking. An easy check would be to see if you have 12v on the Red/White wire going to the R/R under the right side cover below the seat There is 12v there all the time regardless of whether your ignition is turned on or not. No 12v, then bad 30A fuse.

Talking Eat this stupid fuses!!!!

SO I got all prepared today to be out in the South Carolina heat all day, attempting to locate my electrical problem. I took the gas tank back off the bike, and saw a nice little red tab stating "fuse". I pulled it off, and heaven forbid, I found a blown 30 Amp fuse. Went to Wally World, and bought 5 for 2 bucks. Imagine my surprise when my dash board lit back up, and my bike turned over and started! Thanks to all for your help!!!!!! MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!
