Motor Compatibility?
I'm new to the CBR having bought an 1995 f3 track bike this summer. The block cracked last day out so I'd like to replace it with a running engine while I repair/rebuild the race motor. What year motors will be a direct bolt in?
I'm in central NJ. If anyone within a few hours driving distance has one for sale let me know.
Thanks

F2 and F3 engines are more or less the same with the exception that the F3 has pressurized carbs and a fuel pump, since you already got the F3 carbs (which are slightly bigger than F2) and everything else you should be able to make an f2 engine work as well however you`d probly be looking at playing around with the jets or getting F2 carbs and deleting the Ram-air intake system if it hasn`t already been done. If you`re looking for a direct bolt on kit then I`d recommend going for 95 to 98. The last 97-98 models, according to wikipedia, should have a deeper oil pan and a "revised" cylinder head giving out additional +5hp.
