Default Moody Tach

I've searched prior posts, but not real answer as of yet. The Tac on my 98f3 cuts out now and again. Usually stays off for about 1-5 minutes. Seems to happen after reving high. I've can only seem to find "check for loose wires". Did that...now what? Seems to be a common problem. Thanks

Default RE: Moody Tach

Rather than looking for loose wires, check for wires that may be rubbing together and/or rubbing against metal. If the insulation around the wire is compromised, you may have an intermittent short. Basically the tach works off of the ignition pickup coil. I think there is only one wire that actually operates the tach itself.
