I repacked a Yosi slip on a few years back on a old F1 and it was a MF to get a part, but it did come apart...

I can see what your thinking about doing and yes I don't see why it could not be done.

Cut the baffle pipe down to your length and cut the outer shell down to fit the baffle pipe, repack the slip on and screw it back together.

Good idea!

Good deal,

I think you just performed one of the hottest mods you will see this year!

Make sure to take a bunch of pics because I have a feeling people will want to know how you did it, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than a new shorty...

check out the pics of the "custom shorty". i cut it off at the back side of the hanger where it was all scratched up. ended up being 5". and i gotta say ofter taking it apart i love that micron. so easy to get apart, just one bolt. in other words no drilling out rivets...nice. love it or hate it looks and sounds way radder, a much deeper sounding rumble

after riding about 20 miles today, i must toot my own horn. this was such a much needed improvement and would suggest it to anyone who thinks there is no reason to have a muffler that's 2 ft long. sounds so good and just looks how it should look.

I am looking at doing this to my Vance and Hines S4. I took it apart yesterday and it is going to be a lot more involved than I thought, but think I will still attempt it.
