making an undertail out of diamond plate?
I have seen one person do this, I forgot where. I thought it looked like crap! I dont think diamond plate is a good look for any sportbike unless its like a streetfighter kind of theamed for it, even then it would probably still look silly. I have been looking everywhere for an undertail, you can find ones for the 97-98 at a couple of places. I made a post like a week ago about trying to find and undertail for a 95-96 F3. The diamond plate is going to be pretty cheap, but thats how it will look too.
I just started the process of doing this on my f4.I would use a sheet of alum. first. Then do it with diamond plateing.I did it with diamond plateing the first time and it didn,t look so good.So i took a sheet of alum n did it again. It's easier to bend n roll. But when I did it with the alum I had to take it to a shop to have the diamond plate bent the same way.here is a pic of the first one i tryed.I haven't gotten the finished one back yet.I think it will look pretty good when it's done.

doesnt look all that bad jay... i would have gone with a black diamond plate to kind of give it a discreet look but still have some style. i envy people who will do custom work to their bikes... im too afraid of f^%#ing something up.
