Thumbs up LED STRIP - - - tail light

I bought an LED strip to give me more visability and put it just above my license plate. I want it to come on when i hit the brakes but i can't seem to get the wiring right. The break/tail lights have 3 wires going to them; 1. green wire (guessing constant 12 volt) 2. green wire with white line on it (guessing ground) and 3. a brown wire (don't really know). Now the LED strip only has a red and black wire, so positive and negative. I did get the strip to come on by putting the positive on the brown wire and the negative on the green wire with the stripe. The LED strip would go on, the only problem was that when i hit the brakes it would shut off. So i want it to do the opposite. Could somebody please help me out here. THANKS A MILLION

This is whats in the manual. Brown is the ground. Green/Yellow is the positive when you engage the brakes. It would go off when the brakes are disengaged. So hook it up this way:

Bike -- Light
Brown -> Black
Green/Yellow -> Red
