Default leak from pulser cover

so i have a leak from the pulser cover. it looks like i just have to replace an o-ring. i assume that since there's a leak, there is oil behind the cover. if i pull the little circular cover off will oil spill out? not sure how high the level is behind there... it looks like that little circular cover is sort of an access hole, though? so i'm wondering if anything will come out.

pulser cover? Do ya mean clutch cover? or ignition/stator cover? The clutch cover will have oil behind it n it will need to be drained b4 removing. Other side should be dry unless the crankshaft seal is shot.

If you're talking about item #3 here, then no, there is no oil behind the cover, and yes all you'd have to do is replace the "O" ring. As PlayfulGod said though, if the CS seal is shot, you could have more oil than just a misting.
