Default Introduction To my 95 F3

Whats up everyone, I am posting this here now, after a few weeks, to introduce my self and my new(ish) 95 F3 The name is Joe and I'm Jersey raised and currently living on the North Shore of Mass(Tax)achusetts. I bought the bike for 700 bucks and i got what i think is a decent deal. (Could have gone lower but i settled on what i think was decent) I bought the bike from a kid who had not much knowledge of bikes and far less mechanical knowledge. There was an issue with the vbike bogging down when getting to about the 20mph mark and they couldn't figure out the problem. Well needless to say before i bought the bike i did a google search for the problem and it led me to this site, within 5 minutes i knew what was wrong. They had converted the bike to a "street fighter" (not so much) and there are no gauges on the bike. it seems they didn't realize the issue with the gauges controlling a solenoid. so i knew that wasn't going to be a problem because all i had to do was splice the pink and another wire to bypass this fault. So i decided to buy the bike. Its naked and its been dumped or knocked over. Theres a few slight scuffs on the bike. The brake and clutch levers were both mildly scuffed. The frame on both sides also had some rash along with the brake peg and clutch cover, all minor but they are there and shows a little bit of carelessness. Mechanically the bike is good. Engine is strong, pulls very nice, sounds good, carbs are spot free, no rust in the tank (looks new) but i can see original paint so its not, has a V&H on it. The battery is deff bad won't hold a charge at all (looks original) rear tire needs replacement could probably use a new chain and is missing a few miscellaneous parts/bolts. I picked up a whole fairing kit from a stunt biker of another 95 for 70 bucks and the only usable parts was the front headlight/fairing stay, Headlight assembly (worth the 70 alone), front fairing and right hand fairing. The ret of the plastics are scratched to **** and cracks everywhere. Needless to say it needs some TLC.

In the week I've had it Ive cleaned the whole bike with some love, wire brushes and a tooth brush from top to bottom and front to back. I replaced the grips with some gel pro grips, changed the plugs, did an oil change, will be flushing the coolant and brake system and adding new fluids, reupholstered the seat to white from the black which had a few small tears, adjusted the handle bars which were almost straight horizontaly, Filled in some very small rock dents in the tank bondo, sanded and primer'ed and replaced the rear brake line which had an unknown pin hole.

Ive ordered adjustable black CNC shorty levers, a clear integrated tail light, new RK Racing Chain, HID Kit, Front & Rear CNC pegs, mirrors with intergrated blinkers, Flush mount smoked rear blinkers, Tires and will be ordering a fairing kit in a couple weeks once i recover some cash. All in all i paid $700 for the bike and ill be dropping about another 700-1000 in parts etc.. To get it where i want it (Almost Stock). Heres a few pics and I'm glad to be apart of the family. Im mechanically inclined and i work as an Electrician and EMT, so i will chime in when i can wether you have a general question, an electrical problem or think you're having a stroke i can help.

In the video below it was the first time on the bike so the clutch usage wasn't exactly good it took a little getting used to, but i got it down now it just engages pretty far out, but thats been adjusted.

Thanks again. -Joe

Taking her home.

As you can also see, I'm dealing with a bike that wasn't taken care of by the previous owner. But she's slowly getting striped and new parts, paint, cleaned.. I got packages coming in every few days with parts etc.. for her. She will be phresh soon.. Just not soon enough haha

Just posting an update to my bike. I got some new shorty levers on her which feel very nice. There USA Shipped and feel a lot better than my stock ones. As a reminder to anyone that might be wondering (Cuzz it took me a minute to figure it out) you have to remove the hex head on the bottom of both brake/clutch before you can turn the flat head screw at the top. The process was super simple and took me about 10 minutes total.
