Ignition repair/replace

Ignition repair/replace
So last night this happened:
Got a call from police saying my alarm was going off and went downstairs to find that someone had tried to hotwire it. Guess it could have been worse, but still f*cking annoying.
Looks like the alarm must have stopped them, but now it's going mental (sorry neighbours!) and not before they managed to break the steering lock and rip out the wires from the back of the ignition block. Also looks like the 30A fuse has blown.
From what I understand, I am hoping I can kill and reset the alarm, replace the fuse, and either fix or replace the ignition.
First 2 easy(ish), but the ignition, tried undoing the star bolts holding the ignition in place, but they wouldn't budge. Am I just being a bit of a wimp, or do I need to do something else to remove them?

i had no problem with mine..its just those two torx screws holding it on..id try spraying some pb blaster between the ignition block and upper triple..let it sit, and then go to town.. be sure not to strip the bolt heads or break them off. make sure you are turning them the correct direction to remove them also! if they dont seem like they are going to budge, spray them down again and repeat..
if the ignition's steering lock is broken..i would definitely replace it. im currently looking to upgrade mine with the round key ignition like this .if the lock is not broken..you can simply re solder the wires back on.
the 30A main fuse is located with the starter solenoid on the left side of the bike in front of the battery box.
i would disconnect the alarm from the battery and once you fix or replace everything go from there as to trouble shooting it

So attempts to undo those bloody torx bolts have failed. Have tried WD-40-ing and leaving for a bit 3 times now, but no budging. One more try then I guess it's taking off the triple tree to ty and get a better angle.
To do that I think I need to take off both handlebars, go buy a 32mm(?) socket and be paranoid about what feels like a 'major job'.

what are you using in attempts to get them loose? a torx handle? a torx driver (basically a screwdriver with a torx tip? if it is either of those, i would suggest acquiring a torx bit to use on a socket wrench..you will have the most leverage with this method.
if you already are using that method and need to remove the triple..firstly, i would suggest the removal of other pieces first..like the front fairing, gauges, fairing stay before hand..but if you STILL need to remove the triple..i do not believe you will need to buy that socket. you may be able to get away with using just an adjustable wrench, because that bolt should only be torqued to 76 ft lbs..the rest is just allen screws if memory serves correctly

Success!
So I decided, before trying the triple, I'd get myself a quarter inch converter, jam the torx-driver into the torque wrench (twice the size of the wrench i'd been using before, and give it one more try. slowly but surely, out they came. then had to take apart most of the front end to get to the plug.
Soldering it was a pain in the ar*e, but eventually got it to stick and stuck on a half dozen cable-ties for good measure, and a metal plate before melting the back cover back over it. Gonna be a b*tch if i need to repair it again, but should make it more difficult to rip those wires out in future.
Replace fuse, despike alarm, job done.
What I was considering before I managed to remove it, was if I got a second ignition, and mounted it somewhere less visible, and had that connected to the battery, could I then do something attach a second battery to the dummy ignition to give any future thieves a little shock? Would add a bit of weight, but would be oh-so satisfying!!
