Default Ignition poor bike :(

Hi folks, been a while since I've been on here. Since the last time, I've sold my 95 cbr f3 to my brother and got a harley. When my brother bought it, he took it to his place in Milwaukee. One day he didn't turn his ignition off and drained his battery. Letting the bike sit til he could get a charge, he came home from work one day to find the bike in the middle of the parking lot with his ignition punch with a screw driver. He put the bike back and a few days later the clutch handle and assembly were stolen and the cable cut. Now the bike is back in my garage and being a college grad. He has no money. So I found a guy on Craigslist who has parts so I bought and ignition with a key from him. My question. Is there some sort of safety when the ignition is punched that I need to reset? I hooked the new one up and I'm not getting any power. I did recharge the battery. Maybe he sold me a bad ignition?

No there isn't, not on a F3. But it's possible that when the ignition wires were cut, the 30A fuse was blown. It's on the Start Relay and accessable on the left side near the battery. You can also check for the presence of 12V on one side of the fuse block under the fuse cover on the right side of the bike near the forks. If you remove one of the fuses, you should be able to ready 12V on one side of them when the Ignition Switch is turned on.

I'll check that, the wires weren't cut, they shoved a screwdriver in the key hole, kinda a amature way to try and steal it. I've got a ohm meter, could I possibly check the plug to see if there's a current going through the new ignition?

I looked around, and the only fuses I saw were in the fuse box below the handle bars. Another question, is there something on the outside of the bike that ( not under the plastics) found out the foot peg and shifter were also stolen. I also have all plastics off, front turn signal and headlight disconnected. Could that be an issue that there is no power

so someone has come along with some tools and removed parts from the bike? wow thats shifty and i thought i left my bike in some rough places

there are 2 sets of fuses the fuse box under your right clipon and a fuse box under the seat.

just pull the plug off that comes from the battery it is under that plug and there is a spareright underneath there if you have a good look around you should find it.

id say buy some race clipons and racing rearsets and an inline pressure switch then get a dobermann to protect the bike....
