Honestly? Wait and get the right tool or you'll end up buying an igniton switch too. They are hard to get out for a reason.

Yeah....you're not gonna get it out....even with the right tool. Damn star bits strip as soon as they see anything coming towards them. Plus, that sucker is loc-tited like you would not believe. I drilled the heads off the screws. Took the ignition out so some screw was exposed. Then I used vice grips to turn them out. It was HARD.

Just take the gas cap to the locksmith. It uses the same key. 3 allen bolts (5mm head size) in a triangular pattern (1 up, 2 on the bottom sides) will remove it. The other bolts are not really bolts, just decoration.

if you see the other post. he's got two keys one for the gas cap and the other for the ignition. Try takeing off the helmet lock. I'm pretty sure that should match the ignition. no one really changes the helmet lock.

Do you still have the key to the gas cap? try to open the helmet lock, if it works than the ignition was changes...if it doesn't than the gas cap was changed.

Taking the rear peg off is easier than the ignition.
