Help with raising my F3?

So I just picked up This imgur: the simple image sharer on monday and Im really happy with it. The only problem so far is the previous owner SLAMMED the bike. Said they put on adjustable ride height and lowered it all the way (they're short, im huge) and the steering geometry is way off and I can definitely see my self bottoming it out. They gave me the stock link that looks like this: http://www.streetfightersinc.com/ima...t-CBR-600F.jpg
except it has the bushings fitted in. How do I raise the adjustable one, or should I swap back in the stock link? He said the aftermarket link had a lock nut and you just release one and raise the other, but I havent had time to take a look. Im assuming its somewhere on the swing arm by the coil. Do I have to jack the bike up to adjust it? Any help would be appreciated, the bike doesn't seem to want to lean and corner correctly and while it rides well enough, at my size its probably dangerous to put the bike through twisties at speed until I get the ride height correct and dial in the suspension to my liking. Unfortunately the PO cut the stock kickstand also to fit the shorter ride and now it basically stands straight up, so hopefully it'll be tall enough to not tip while I seek out a non messed up kickstand also. Thanks!

So I had a few seconds to get under the bike and grab a picture of the adjuster link, this shot is take from the left side of the bike looking up from right behind the shift level more or less. Which nut do I loosen, and which direction raises the bike?

your choice really there are loads of options
adjust that do hicky and never really know what your rear is raised/lowered by just until it feels correct
put the F3 back in as standard
put an F4 dog link in to raise the rear something like 1 1/2" above standard
put the F3 link in and get an aftermarket shock to raise the height to how you like
you can also drop the forks through a little to make it turn in quicker
measure from top yoke to the circlip and set it at 50mm thats how we set them for racing

I`m not familiar with the suspension linkage, but that link works like a turnbuckle. The upper ball-joint probably has left hand threads, so if you open both the little nuts, turn them some rotations away of the long center piece and then turn that, it should lengthen or shorten depending on which way you turn it. Which direction does what you have to figure out yourself.
