Don't worry about the clutch, it will be just fine. You couldn't spin it enough to cause any damage at all. Putting it in 6th gear puts the greatest mechanical advantage of the engine against the sprocket. Putting the chain back on along with the rear wheel and sprocket will allow someone to hold the back brake. You'll be able to get the bolt loose then I'm sure.

If you mean the guard over the front sprocket, No. This is the first time i have ever taken this cover off.
If you mean the tire hugger and partial chain cover then yes i have removed that part. The chain does not come close to your foot unless your just flopping your foot around back there. Also if you have a nice set of riding boots there is even less to worry about.

I dont think you have anything to worry about, i have one pair of pants that i ride in that are baggy, and during normal riding they ride up anyways. Also it is just the chain in that area and there is nothing for your pant leg to bind up between.

Knowing that it was left hand threads helped out just a little bit, Only a little bit. haha
Oh well, as long as you got if off. Post some photos of the teeth on that sprocket. Nice clear ones would be great.
