Hi guys,

I posted earlier about a problem with gas leaking out of a breather tube and checked out my floats to see if there was any problem with them after a couple suggestions. They all looked good, but when I was looking at the jets (I believe that's what they are...number 27 in this diagram http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/model...semblies/11388), one of them looked like it had deteriorated (the picture shows the part with a bit more damage because I had to use pliers to take it out since it was so messed up). I compared it to the other jets located in the other carbs, and this one was dirty and the hole was also dirty compared to the others.

My question was if this could be the reason why my bike was shooting out gas through the breather hose when I would start it? Thanks!

 

Absolutely.

While you're at it, take off your throttle bodies and clean them real good. Any spec of sand / debris can cause it to malfunction. A stuck float is most likely the culprit. Clean everything even if you think they're already clean enough.
