Trying to track down some issues. Wondering on about testing the fuel pump. Its all been removed. Now if I supply it with 12volts, should it stay on pumping? I put 12 volts to it and you can feel it pump once. and a bit of fuel comes out. Should it stay on pumping? if i remove the 12 volts and press it again, itll pump again (but just once). Bad fuel pump?

my fuel pump went out today, my buddy just directed the fuel hose direct instead of going to the fuel pump and the bike started thats how i knew the pump was bad. also if this was the problem i recommend buying a brand new pump not one because my friend did this twice and both times the pump went bad but after he bought a new one he never had a problem with it again
