Default fuel pump settings

I'm a newbie to the bike game and this forum

I have a question I'm sure someone can answer...what is the purpose of the "hard" and "soft" settings on the fuel pump?

this is pic of my 97 600F3 btw.

well it has a warning on it that says it has fuel inside...I've seen some pics where people have replaced the stock one with one that has a redbull design on it

its on the right rear of the bike

Well if it's mounted on the right passenger peg bracket, then it's the remote resovoir for the rear shock

alvareze, the ones you see with the red bull design are just the red bull can slipped over the shock canister =D. Costs the the price of a red bull
