fuel pump
Fuel pump on my 98 f3 crapped out on me last week and the bike just doesn't seem to run quite right with the pump bypassed. I really don't want to buy a used pump being that it could go out at anytime like the stocker with only 14,000 miles on it did. So my question is where is the best place to buy a new pump, and are there any universal pumps that would work and are cheaper than paying like $120 for a new honda pump? Let me know
thanks

Remove the black plastic cover on the back of the pump, one small phillip's head screw.
Take 400+ grit sandpaper to the contacts and clean them up,but don't grind.
Re-install cover,re-install pump, fire it up and ride away.

kjohnson,
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it a lot. Sure as hell beats spending over $100 to buy a new pump. I took the pump apart and cleanded up the contacts and now it works perfectly. I know you said not to grind on the contacts but they were so worn out one side and uneven that I felt like I had to take the lip off of the contacts. Still haven't taken the bike for a ride yet but it seems to work fine in the driveway. Thanks again for the help
