Frustrated.
So this is my rant. Hope I dont offend anyone, but I just want to be assured that I'm not the only one who has been through this! I need sheetrock repair in my garage now...
Let me tell a little history about my ordeal. I get my F3 a couple months ago, on its last leg, barely running. Never worked on carbs before, and I found out they were my problem. So i spent a whole weekend getting them off the bike, and cleaning them from head to toe. Started it up, ran alright, not 100%. I searched and searched this forum then found that hey... the previous owner had installed F2 carbs on my bike. Why? I have no clue. So therefore I had no throttle posistion sensor. Skip ahead a couple... ok many... weeks (because the seller lost them in the warehouse for 1 month) and my "good, working F3 carbs" off of ebay come to my door, as well as my Jetkit. I inspect the carbs and find that I have a broken fuel input nipple. Great. So I rip the carbs completely apart from each other, rape the nipple off my old F2 carbs and put them on this new set. I then go to install my jetkit a week later, and when i removed the float bowls.... this white powder flew out everywhere. It looked like these "good, working F3 carbs" (as so the eBay title said) had been sitting on a shelf, outside in a junkyard, for about 10 years. I couldnt even see some of the jets because it had so much buildup of this... gunk... or wtf ever it was. As i go to start taking them out to clean / install jet kit, I break 2 jets on the very first carb. They were so locked into their threads that they just flat out broke. So after throwing a couple tools into the wall, I called it quits on this second set of carbs, deeming them non-repairable because they are so fuct.
Its like I cant catch a break on this damn bike. And this was my first problem that I was tackling was the carbs. I still have 0 fairings, bald front and rear tires, parts zip-tied and dangling everywhere. So $1,000 for the bike, and about $500 dollars in parts later... the bike is sitting in the same spot as it was when I got it about 3 months ago.
I think Im starting to learn my lesson on "you get what you pay for".....

throw your carbs in carb cleaner for a week. it will give it time for the cleaner to work into everything. then get a easyout broken bolt/screw remover to get out your broken jets. And a plus to letting them sit in cleaner for a week you will have time to cool your head and stop throwing tools through your drywall.lol
I feel ya. Every time I fix something on Rain, I find something new.
And when I think she's finally ready to ride to work: Flat front tire
I haven't even gotten to the really fun DIY job: painting
- Raising the forks: discover the axle spacers are so wrong the fron wheel locks up.
- Raising the rear: discover broken bolt on the rear brake caliper holder.
- Cleaning the carbs: discover DIA ram jets super glued on (and really hated me pulling off the air box.
- Cleaned carbs: needs new spark plugs
- Installing the alarm: discover a massively spliced and electrical taped wire harness
