okay so i have a 95 cbr and when i turn it on the running lights/guage lights do not light.

when i use the rear brake the brake light turns on,

when i use the front brake only no brake light comes on

when i use both the rear and front brake the gauge lights and license plate lights (running lights) turn on as well as the brake light.

what i've tried:
fuses -> all are fine

new front brake switch -> i actually have a 98 cbr as well and swapped them it did not fix the problem and i tried the 95 switch in the 98 and it worked fine.

i'm at a loss here... can anyone help me figure out the correlation between the front braking switch and the running lights???

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

 

Sounds like a short to ground. It sucks but go over every inch of the loom, looking for frays and/or a burnt spot.
