SO, I know the ignition has 3 spots, On, Off, and Lock, well mine wont go into lock, what am I doing wrong? Yes I am pressing...

Also, The bike only came with 1 key, its a 1997, so its not got a chip in it... but Lowes and Home Depot said they couldn't duplicate it

The key I have says USA ILCO X84 HD74 on it...

 

Bars have to be turned fully left or right to lock. So turn them full left (normal parking) then push down and turn to lock.

The key, try either a locksmith or motorcycle dealership. Take the bike with you to verify the new key works before paying.

 

on mine with it turned fully left, i have to slightly wiggle the bars while trying to wiggle the key into lock, eventually it lets go and locks....

 

Tried that, turned the handlebar as far as they would go, then tried the key again, and nothing... still wont lock

Still can't get the forks locked

 

STILL can't get forks to lock... : \

I'm going to the Honda dealership about 30 minutes away from my house tomorrow. I ordered a new shield for my helmet, and I'll ask them about the forks...

Another issue is the key, Home Depot, Lowe's, and Ace couldn't make it, so I'll ask the dealership about it tomorrow too : \

 

for my key i had to just go to a locksmith store, they had the blank to cut a new one. the dealer by me doesnt have a cutter

I needed a smoked visor for my helmet anyway, so I stopped by there today... the guy told me my forks wouldn't lock because the pin might need to be lubed...
