i got gold valve kit installed the other day and my seals replaced and now my suspension is really REALLY soft , the front end goes up and down like nothing almost like a dirt bike. IS it suppose to be like that, cuz i bought the bike with 40,000mi and the guy said never had the seals done or forks touchedsince he owned them, so ? since i have had it, the suspension has been super stiff with no give just bottoms out, but the seals werent bad so i didnt pay any attention. Thought that just how it is.
my buddy said that i just need to adjust the real coil to make it stiffer, is this right ??? or is something else wrong here..

/ when i take off at the light the bike lifts up a little to much, i think, and when i come to a stop i feel it compress and come back up at acomplete stop, but feels excessive. IS THIS all NORMal and i just didnt know cuz my forks have been bad since i got the bike???

Someone please let me know cuz i feel a little unsafe , id feel safer if someone let me know that this is normal or i need to adjust the back end. APpreciate it![:-]

 

you'll need to take some time and adjust the settings. It shouldn't be that loose by anymeans, when you sit on the bike the front suspension should only travel 20-25mm and you should be in full gear when you set your sag.

 

How did you shim your valves? the problem with gold valves is that they flow soooooo much better than stock valves. So then you get less dampening than with your stock. So if your shim stack is the same with your stock valve then you made need to take it all apart and reshim. Also shimming those things to be right is an art. And what racetech suggests for shims may not always be what is best for you. They probably set up the shim stack for racing applications where you are doing 150 in the corner and 180 in the straights. Which will make street driving a teeth shattering experience. You should have stuck with stock...less headache. Sorry to tell you that..but sometimes the factory does get things right for best ridability.
