Default Fiberglass Body Mods

I dropped my F3 bad last year and finally got it back up and running, I recently purchased a complete fairing kit for a lot of money, but not from Honda. I just received it and the tail, front upper fairing and front wheel piece screw holes do not line up. Any suggestions on how to modify, fill or move the holes without cracking the new pieces?

My main concern is making the changes and having it look as stock as possible so when there is paint applied, nothing looks out of place.

You should try to line up the fairings as best as possible and then drill new holes. After you have drilled your new holes fill in the old ones with filler or fiberglass which ever one works for you.

it was made by cheetah but i didnt buy the kit directly from them. when i e-mailed the company that i bought the body from, they said that if nothing fits, there is something wrong with the bike, not the body.

i got the tail and both side fairings on. the side fairings i just had to amke the holes a little bigger and the tail fits on well, but the front is the one that i am going to have to mod a bit. the condition of the body is good, its just annoying that the company said that its my bike that the problem, which is worth a hell of a lot more money than the kit that i got from them. you live and you learn. i will have to make it work and not buy from them again.

damn sorry you had to be a guinea pig but im glad i didnt just waste 800$ buying a full kit from them.. .. i havent had much luck finding a distributor online for body parts but i did stop into my local cyclegear (they have a website but dont sell body parts online www.cyclegear.com ) found out they have a catelog where they can order you individual or complete set of painted or unpainted body pieces for alot cheaper than ive found on the net....

good luck with your kit maybe you can get creative with some extra fiberglass and create something custom

i feel your pain cheetah sucks! nothing lines up right. Get this the tail is one piece and it bolts in the back and in the front, but if you put your seat on it covers the mounts in the back. I think that i am gonna pitch my stuff and start over again![:@]
