hey peeps

got a 99 cbr 600f4 and i was thinking about having it painted this winter.

but i want to replacethe banana seat with asplit seat and replace the single headlight with a split headlight like on an 01 f4i i saw the other day.

is that possible ? are those parts hardto swap ? do they line-up the same as far as mounting etc ? and where would i find the parts ? are they super expensive ?

not sure about the F4, but i know the F4i subframes are compatible. like you can put a split seat frame and fairing on a bike that came with the nana seat. not really a difficult mod, just acquiring the parts is the trickiest part.

Not sure about the headlight though. anything is possible, you might just need some ingenuity and a little cash.

actually i just looked at some profile shots of both bikes, and the mounting points for the headlights appear to be identical. now the only thing to check on are the wiring harnesses... get your hands on a copy of BOTH bikes electrical diagrams and compare. it could be plug and play (except for paint)

 

If you are interested i am parting a bike out this winter. Still a full bike now. If you want the front fairing stays for the swap and the rear sub frame with the seats and everything i have them. You just have to wait til Christmas time when i return to NJ
