+1/-5 ?!?!
For an F3, vortexracing.com has 520 conversion rear sprockets as small as 38 teeth, as well as a 16-tooth front sprocket. For a 525 chain, you can't get bigger than the stock 15-tooth front, but you can get a smaller rear sprocket.
I don't need to replace my chain and sprockets any time soon, and anyway the stock gearing suits me just fine. I was just wondering if anyone has done this, going in the opposite direction from all the stunnas with their -1/+14?
It must make it pretty hard to pick up the front end, but it would be nice to cruise at highway speeds at 4,000 rpm.

@ 1st i thought ou just typed it wrong and really meant "-1/+5" then i saw you were serious..... trust me its not worth it. on my old 98 i went -1 on the rear and that alone killed all the low end torque and made the bike really not pleasureable to ride. please dont waste your time, money and purpose of the bike
i have RRP sprockets no size change in the front but +3 in the rear ... i bought the bike that way so im not sure of the differnce from stock but the ride is nice and its just quick enough to get me into trouble
I'm doing about 6900RPM at 85MPH in 6th on the highway. A quick downshift and I got all the power I need.
What happens when you gear it up like that then you're on the highway and need to make a quick move and need power... ? Downshift to 3rd? I don't think so.

That's why I wassurprised to see that they even sell these sprockets, I don't know who would buy them. Maybe if you're commuting 50 miles to work each way, and gas goes to $9 a gallon?
