Default FAQ's(Frequently Asked Questions)

Hey guys figure I would make a list so this would help everyone out with questions that come along. If you have anything good or want to add let me know and ill add it to the list. I left blanks since I myself have no clue.

Here are the most common questions asked about the F1:

Are these bikes fuel injected:
No. They have a carb. Yet this year they have a fuel pump compared to the older models

Grade Gas:
87

What are the most common power mod's to do:
1.Rejet
2.-1 Front Sprocket, +2 Rear Sprocket
3.Slip On(aftermarket exhaust)
4.Air Filter

What are the most common body mod's to do:
1.Undertail kit
2.Hid's
3.Good frame sliders(One's that require no cuts haven't had significant luck with working)
4.Tires(Find a good brand name that's proven to work)
5.Aftermarket Windscreens
6.Good Chains

What are some good websites to get parts for it:
Oem:

Aftermarket:

Fuel pump not working?:

How to repair your fuel pump:

I hear a rattle when start up and at 5,000 rpm's. What is it?:

Rectifier not working?
If your having a dead battery or out of no were your motorcycle shuts off? Check the output voltage on your battery when the bike is on. Rev it to 5,000 rpms and if you don't see the voltage jump into the 14's chances are your rectifier gave out. This is a common problem on a lot of cbr's.

My valves tick is this normal?:
Yes this is. In order for your valves to work properly you need to have clearance. With having clearance you get a "ticking noise" which is normal. If you don't have any clearance they will be to tight you will have major major problems.

Are the F3 good??: Here is the super review on it with spec's:

Nice job. I'd add something about the R/R being a common fail point.

chain cleaning is a big deal too,
not a F3 issue really, but since the F3 is a common starter bike, its home to many "how to's" as a first learning basis.

You can use shell rotella oil. 5w 40 only

and use the right size tire unless you have a wider wheel. (160/60 17 is factory)
