fan not coming on
I haven't had a chance to ride my new bike for too long.. But even after about a 10 minute ride I would think that the fan would come on. Right? It feels pretty hot. I dont have gauges so I can't tell what temp it is. I have bypassed the temp switch and the fan works fine. Could it just be that I need to replace that temp switch that is in the radiator?
What is the ambient temperature when you're riding? Makes a big difference if you're riding around in 90F or 50F. In comfortable temperatures (65F-80F) my fan ONLY enables itself when I have been stopped for a few minutes. A long stop light, for example. While riding, it doesn't matter how hot it is outside, I've never had it come on unless I'm forced to cruise at a really low speed and there's not enough air flow.
I have had my bike for nearly 11 years & the fan has only come on once & that was when I was caught in a bumper to bumper traffic snarl on the freeway (big accident ahead).
I don't think you have anything to worry about.

The temp outside has been around 75-85 when i've been riding. I did let it idle for a while. Like 10-15 mins to let it run out of gas. And still nothing. That day it was around 80 degrees. So I still don't know if I trust it.
