Default f4i rear shock: kickstand question?

I tried to bump an old thread but received no replies so I'll try my own thread.

I recently purchased a rear f4i shock for my F3 and was wondering what everyone did with their kickstand. The only solid answers I saw were building a bracket or leaving it alone with a mean lean.

I saw that people said you needed an f4i kickstand (or extension bracket).

Just wondering what the outcome was with the kickstand dilemmas for this swap. Thanks.

I would also like to know what the kickstand looks like when its in the up position as it would be when riding for those that have made the extension bracket. Does it hang 2 inches lower than the factory position? I assume it would and think that would look extremely weird so I've been waiting to see a pic of it before moving on with the mod.

I just made a bracket for mine. Works very vell. Just make sure its strong enough so it wont bend.
Let me know if you want a picture of it and dimentions and i'll look into it.

That would be great if you would. Was that easier for you instead of looking for an f4i stand or just cheaper?

Thanks.

Hey 003menace, Can you tell me what the length difference is between the F3 shock and the F4i? Also, what was your impression of the performance. How'd they compare? How did you solve this kickstand problem? Thanks, cbrpilot.

I didn't bother changing the bracket or anything I left it as is. The bike has never come close to falling over.

Oh and Cbrpilot the F4 shock just lifts the tail up about 2 inches It makes the bike look better. I haven't noticed a performance increase or decrease to be honest.
