Default F3 tail swap?

I just bought a 96 cbr 600 f3 that needs a little TLC and I was thinking about doing a tail swap to an 03 or 06 RR tail I was just looking for any advice in doing so such as what needs to be done with modding the subframe end and so forth. Thanks

hey im not sure, but ive seen it a lot on this forum. Lots and lots of pics of people doing it and about 15min search you will see how. Dig a little deep, it there. I want to do it myself soon, and I see that the yamaha r1 or r6 is a popular tail end, and looks great too.

You will have to get all the brackets off the 600rr and weld them to the subframe. Also requires cutting the subframe off or heating it up and bending it. I heated mine up and welded new support bars in for the back seat. Fun stuff

I'd say both tail sections are a little technical but with the steel frame the posibilities are endless. If you can cut and weld u can put any tail section on. Only bad part about the RR tail is they dont make an undertail kit because they have undertail exhaust so you will have to make an undertail or it wont look right.

what do u mean undertail kit, like the lights and licence plate mount? and about how hard would you say it is to do a full tail swap- im really thinking about it. Plus, you said that you would have to buy the mounting brackets, where do you get them, or do you just place up to where it looks good then mark the frame, then weld on whatever bracket will hang it??
