Default f3 rectifier problem, not the usual though?

I bought a 98 f3. it has 40k. the previous owner had the rectifier connecter melt on him. i bought the bike and replaced it. bike started up fine and then i rode for about 10mins. i was about back to my house and the right side of my bike started pouring out white smoke. i pulled in the driveway and took the side plastic off, the rectifier was dripping black plastic from the inside. i bought one of a 95 that is the exact same but doesnt have the little heat fins on the top, it is just a rubber type cover. i plugged it in and the bike runs great again. i didnt ride it at all just started it and waited to see how hot the rectifier would get. it started getting really hot so i shut the bike off and unhooked it. i am also having a problem whenever i turn the ignition on the headlight fuse blows and the gauge fuse blows when i start going? i am pretty good with mechanical and semi good with electrical so and thoughts would be much appreciated thank you very much!!!

I'd check the stator and all the connectors of charge circuit.

it sounds like your stator is producing too much current...not sure if this is possible of correct...but worth a try.

This is also typical of when you use a cheap aftermarket r/r.I had an EMGO one blow the 30amp main fuse, and then melt. Not the right way to save 40 bucks. [:@]
