F3 petcock rebuild?

F3 petcock rebuild?
Does any one know if there is a rubber petcock seal from another Honda that will work on an F3 petcock? I'm not talking about the vacuum diaphragm, I'm talking about the flat round rubber seal that actually seals the valve when it in the "off" position that would go behind the valve itself. I haven't taken a REALLY close look at it yet but so far all it seems is 2 rivets that would need drilled out and I would have access to that seal then tap the rivet holes and install cap screw in it's place. My kids previous vf500 interceptor was extremely hard to find parts for and this was a common mod for it and it used the seal from a gl1000. I know new petcocks are available for the f3 but $50 seems kinda wasteful if all it needs is a seal. Any suggestions?

Hmmmm. Just got it apart and it's definitely not what I expected and it seems Honda was bound and determined that the actual valve not be rebuilt. The 2 rivets that hold face plate on were a breeze but there was no round flat rubber seal like I'm used to seeing and the actual rubber seal is behind a recessed plate with 3 VERY tiny rivets. I imagine if I were determined enough I could remove the 3 small rivets and come up with another way of securing the seal plate but with no new seal available that I know of, I think the effort would be futile. Oh well it was worth a try.
