Default F3 Frame Sliders???

I bought shogun frame sliders for my 98 F3 while i was sanding the fairings for paint. I have the fairings back on now, but i realize there is nowhere to put on my frame sliders. How do I go about doing this? Drill holes? If so, where?

you might need longer mounting bolts, but they go where the engine is mounted to the frame by the inspection covers, and yes you will have to make holes for them.

Do a search, IDoDirt has a boffo 'how-to locate to drill', if I remember correctly.

I've heard of using modeling clay after they're mounted, to impress the location
on the inside of the lowers.

I used a laser. put the bike on the stand, pointed the laser exactly at the engine
mount, re-hung the lower and marked the spot on the exterior.

Using a hole-saw is the easiest, cleanest method, imo.
I've also heard of folks using a dremeal and a steady hand.

If you want to clean it up sjona, try using a hole-saw just big enough to straddle
the original cut-out.

Take a scrap of wood, punch a hole through it. Then, line it up and use duct-tape
to hold it in place over the rough-out. The block will guide the saw and keep it from
skating, even without a center. It'll be a bit bigger than optimal, perhaps.

If you line the edges with a panel trim, you can still make it look spanky, though.
