The exhaust cam is an f3 intake cam. The intake cam is a HRC cam.

The exhaust side of the head is as smooth as you can get. Keeps carbon buildup down and faster flow. The intake was very lightly polished until you get to the valve seat area. Knocked down the lip from the steal valve seat to the casting and polished. On the intake side you don't want it to be completely smooth.

Installed the new used ignition cover made by Factory Pro. Has some minor scraping from a crash but nothing major.

Put in the new thermostat and gasket. Needed a new one seeing as the one I took out looked like this below.

Good reason for the engine never getting to operating temp.

Putting in new spark plugs is really easy when nothing is in the way.

For anyone that is interested in the aluminum spacers and brackets I made. I'm going to make 4-5 complete sets. If those go fast I will make more. Asking price is $30-35 plus shipping. I use T6 temper 6061 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 42,000 psi (290 MPa) and yield strength of at least 35,000 psi (241 MPa). So if your interested send me a PM.

Also in the works. Making spacer/adapter to be able to use front calipers from 96 zx6r or CBR900.

Nothing new. Planning on doing some more work this weekend to it. Was put on the back burner lately. Mainly because of looking and doing all the paperwork for a house.

It didn't bend at all. A piece looks like it broke off that help guides the pin.

Did some work this weekend. First thing I did was install the race stator cover. The carbs are back on but waiting for the 900rr temp sensor. Getting rid of the stock choke cable and put one from a 900rr on. Seeing as its a race bike only don't need the turn signal switch. Still thinking about where to mount the choke **** at. I did some work to the frame taking brackets off. Going to start a different thread for that. Waiting for the 08-10 1000rr race bodywork to come in.

I know its not a cbr, but it is a build. Its a 2005 R6 bottom end with forged 2mm over pistons. Comes out to a 637cc engine. Crank has been lightened & balanced. The head is from an 02 with 1mm over valves with the port floors raised. I pick it up from the machine shop tomorrow. Its for a mini sprint car that runs on alcohol. Got a bunch more pics but dont want to clog up your thread. I do engine building on the side.
Good luck with it.
