Default F3 Engine Rebuild

I'll start off saying nothing was wrong with the motor. Everything tested out to factory specs. Need to get more out of the motor which means rebuild. I didn't take step by step pics because the service manual has that.

I started by taking the engine apart still in the frame. Makes is easy to pickup by yourself to put on the bench.

The inside was really clean not what I was expecting.

The cylinder head was completely taken apart and the exhaust side was ported.

Stock crank vs race crank.

I sent the upper case out to get over bored. I forgot to take a picture before I had the cases back together. New bigger pistons installed.

Next step was to make lighter and just as strong if not stronger motor mounts and spacers. All the weights are in grams.

Just one of the stock engine brackets.

Both of the brackets I made weight less than one of the stock ones.

The engine uses 5 spacers to set it in the frame. The smallest one wasn't worth making so its not in the picture.

All these spacers weight less than the big stock spacer.

Put the engine back in the frame. I have the new over bore head gasket, just to cold to work on it.

Pretty sick write up you got. Do you machine the parts yourself? Also dide you have to mess around with the cams at all? And isnt your 600 not going to be a 600 anymore?

I had a local engine machine shop do the over bore and honing for me. All the other machining I do myself. Haven't messed with the cams yet. Your right its no longer a 600cc 12 to 1 compression motor. Its now a 636cc 13 to 1 compression motor.

I pm'ed you. Hit me up if you want some help. Plus need to do that to my motor as a spare. F4i pistons in a f2/f3 block can go up to 637cc and have questions to ask you.

If you just sent a PM I didn't get it. I do have one from last week from you about the bar in Ripple.

I was going to use F4I pistons but got a steal on a set of Wisco. I have 2 complete F4I piston sets that I was going to use.

Your right about the cc size, I checked their site.

Got an estimated power for the rebuilt motor yet? Build looks killer.

Not yet. I haven't decided if I will use premium or U4.4 race fuel to set the jetting.

Say you choose either one. What would you expect it to be? Would love to know an estimated number
