I have replaced a lot of the components in my charging system due to them consistantly failing. If you run through the tests on the link, replace it with an RR from an R1 (FH012). I recommend the R1 because the connectors for newer Honda RRs don't seem to be available.
I decided to replace everything from another bike because it runs cooler and is much better at regulating the voltage. When the RR goes out on these things, they have a tendency to take out the connectors at the RR and between the harness and stator. When switching up to the FH012, you'll need to change the harness connectors at the RR. In addition, you'll need to modify where the RR mounts the to the frame. The FH012 is much larger than the old SH693-12 and so the base plate needs to be modified.
Here are a few sites were I got my stuff.
Automotive and Marine Cable, Motorcycle Wiring Connectors, Plugs, Terminals and Diagrams
Motorcycle Relay Kits, Parts, Powerlet, Centech, Posi-Lock, and More!
