So my 96 CBR600F3 is bogging down. I had originally got the bike from my brother and it did not have an airbox. Even though I know I shouldn't have, I drove it around without an air filter (I had ordered it and was waiting for it to come in) and it drove fine. Once the airbox came in and I put it in with an air filter, the bike started bogging down. It works fine in 1st gear, starts stuttering in 2nd gear a little bit when reaching 5000 rpm, and bogs down once in 3rd gear. I know it has to be something going on with the airbox because I took it back out and it runs great. If somebody knows anything please let me know because I don't want to risk anything happening to it by riding without the air filter. We have tried some of the troubleshooting suggestions within the forum but nothing seems to work.

 

Bypass the air solenoid. I had the same problem and this worked for me. Just google it
