Default F2 Tank on F3?

As the title asks, will an F2 (1994) tank fit on an F3 (1996)? My F3 tank has a dent in the left side that irritates me whenever I see it.

They appear to be the same size..so it could be a direct bolt on?
Does the F2 accommodate for the F3 ram air intake? This is the critical deciding factor I feel.

the tanks themselves are identical.. its the petcocks that are different. im not exactly sure how to make the conversion. but the f2 has a vacuum hose, and the f3 is run off a fuel pump. hopefully someone else knows a little more about how to do the switch. good luck

Something like that.
here, this explains it a little better

So let me make sure I've got this right:
If I use an F2 tank & put my F3 petcock on there and keep the existing gas delivery setup of a the fuel pump, I should be ok and not have issues?

Or I could also use the F2 petcock along with the F2 tank without the fuel pump and run the fuel delivery system off a vacuum to the carbs?

If both are true, I think I'll put the F3 petcock on the F2 tank and use the fuel pump along with it.

Thanks for the help!

the f3 will not stay running without the fuel pump (i have to buy a new one for my 95 project i just bought)... due to it having downdraft carbs (no float bowls) gravity feed is not enough to get the bike to do more than sputter and backfire like crazy

sorry but you are completely wrong the CBR 600 F3 95-98 use keihin cv carbs which will run off gravity feed as long as the differential pressure between your tank and your carbs is significant enough for the fuel to flow at a pressure constant enough to have a good supply of fuel, but better ran at high speed with something to keep pressure up such as a vacuum or fuel pump.

the f3 carbs DO have float bowls i should know iv stripped a few.
