Default Extra Helmet

Has anyone ever carried an extra helmet on their f3 when traveling for sorta long distances (60 miles), without a backpack? If so, how? The helmet lock does not seem like a safe option, I was thinking maybe take the seat off and do the chinstrap (with some sort of extension if needed) around the passanger seat and just have it on the passenger seat?

Any ideas?

Certainly I wouldn't use the helmet lock. It will just get destroyed along the way. I'd look at putting it inside some kind of bag, even a back pack would be fine and then strap it onto the rear seat.

As for the chin strap, I'm not entirely sure how tight or secure it would be. If you go that route, post a photo and how it works out for you.

When I get home I post up some pic's of what I do. I keep a half helmet on my bike all the time...I just use some velco with the chin strap.

Fish-neted to the rearseat works well. Definetly not by the helmet lock on the bike, that is only designed for security while off the bike, it will foul with the rear wheel and BAD THINGS will happen.

Only other good way to transport it that I can think of, ask a friend to wear it for you. ;-)

It is a gift for my girlfriend, but I have to get it to her before she can wear it for me! lol :P

I do have a net on my back seat, Maybe I will try to do a combo of the chin strap under the seat (if it fits) with the stretchy net over it. And it should arrive with one of those thing dust bags, so I could throw it in that too I suppose. Think that would work out?
