Engine loses power
I have a 1997 cbr 600 that looses power and acts like it is running out of fuel been working on it for a month bought a wrecked bike for parts that was running replaced fuel pump pickup sensor on right side of engine carburetor gas tank the electronic vale for air box coils sparks Cdi box fuel pump relay complete engine harness still acted like running out of fuel but if you stop for a second will catch back up I started pulling fuses when I unplugged speedo fuse bike took off and ran great put fuse back back started running rough again so pulled the plug out of speedo cluster and bike revs and runs great any ideas out there it has been in three bike shops before I found this problem myself I do not have the parts cluster it was broken

If you pulled the fuse for the cluster and the bike runs as it should than you have found part of the problem. The fact that pulling the fuse and it runs as it should tells you the problem is with the cluster. Start by looking for a short, knocked wire etc.. It sounds like theres probably a wiring issue. One think you could do is pin those wires out to ground from the plastic connector. Grab a multi meter and set it to continuity. Ground the black probe of the meter and use the red probe to test each pin in the harness. Use a diagram to find out which wires to test.

Not to sound dumb but what is the rr sensor I have replaced every thing but the speedo sensor on engine but unplug it and the bike still ran like it was running out of gas unplugged the speedo from back of cluster bike runs fine I changed out cluster with my 1998 been wrecked doing the same thing could it possibly be 2 bad speedometers

It's the voltage regulator rectifier, it's connected to the wiring harness on the right side of the bike under your tail fairing and directly above your rear passenger footpeg, it's a black plastic price with 5 wires going into it and it reduces and converts the voltage of your stator to usable power for the battery, if it goes out or starts to go out you can experience strange electrical or running issues, it's easy to check if you have a voltmeter, it gets real hot so don't touch it if the bike has been running, check all the wires going into that part to see if they are burnt
