Hey guys i happened to come across a cbr 600 engine for free lol. Friend of mine cleaned out his garage and gave it to me. I know its from an f2 or f3 but not sure which, how can i determine what year the engine is or if its from an f2 or f3???

 

The cam chain tensioner is longer on the F3 engine. Look at engines on ebay and compare.

Yes, all the mounting points are the same. Are the carbs on the engine? F3 carbs are 2mm bigger than F2 carbs plus the 36mm F3 carbs have a throttle position sensor on the left side of the carbs.

 

Look at IDoDirt's post, there is an image listing things from 91 to 96. The engine number is stamped into the case and is located on the back side of the engine on top of the clutch housing.

hi I have just bought a 1994 cbr600f2.it did not start and was missing some parts like the clutch thrust washer and cone washer.now my clutch doesn't work.could this be because of the missing parts.
