Default ear plugs : any one have a good brand?

Does anyone know of any good earplugs to use for the road to minimize wind noise?
I was thinking something molded, not just the generic/cheap earplugs you get from any store.

The past 2 days I've used some on the highway and I must say its much better the feeling like you are in a tunnel the whole time unless crouched behind the visor.

Hearos are awesome! ridegear.com carries them and so do cycle gear stores.

I've got custom fitted earplugs, they inject your ear with a moulding and then make a perfect earplug for you.

It eliminates the harmful DB's and frequencies, but allows all the noise you want to hear through... You can hold a conversation better with these earplugs in next to an idling bike than you can without them!

where did you get them?

I'm thinking about having a pair made up for myself. I've never been a fan of those foam or the rubber cone ones that you shove into your ears. they are very uncomfortable.

I got mine from a company called dB)Blocker, they will run you about $100 but well worth it in my opinion.

There's a 30 day comfort warranty, so if they dont make them perfect the first time you can have them fixed.

Then there's something like at least a 1 year warranty for faulty product.

any that fit will do, you only need to break the space up in the ear canal to have an effect. Some believe the quieter the better, its the actual noise and vibrations getting into the ear that harms them, obviously thelouder the noise the more chance it has of causing harm. I shoot clays and use foam moulded to the ear which has been mentioned on this thread, however on my bike i use none, i'd prefer to hear the idiot behind me trying an overtake. haha I'd say personal choice really but the moulded stuff is worth it if you can afford it. All the best

You need to find what sort suits your ears which areas individual as fingerprints; that's why the custom ones work well. Over here some places sell a multi-pack with one each of several types so you can try them all. I use Max-Lite orange foam ones and find them really comfortable.
