I picked up a 98cbr600f3 and i noticed there was no on/off switch for the headlights, just a low/high switch and the lights are always on whenever the bike is running. Is it supposed to be like this?

 

no the departement of trans decided that motorcycle lights should remain on at all times due to increase in visibilty.
i dont know if you legally have to have your head light on though, its just the way they are made

 

Yeah we had that law here as well, I was repealed some time ago, and I was wondering why the newer bikes where coming through without the switch. Guess it's easier (cheaper) to make all the bikes like that.
