Damn people make fun of my "moses" bike
Then I rode with them and dusted em in the twisties. It was a good time. But seriously they kept calling my bike a "moses" bike. 1998 isn't that old and its DAMN clean with low low miles. they ride a 2003 600rr and a 50th anniversary yellow/black 2006 R6.

RE: Damn people make fun of my "moses" bike
Only a couple more years & they will be saying "Wow, look at that great "Classic", wish I owned it".
I used to buy a new bike every couple of years, but I was clocking up some serious klms commuting to work every day (160 klms round trip) So it made sense ro trade on, also a really good excuse for getting your bum on a new bike (yep married).
I went to a motorcycle museum a while back now, and saw a lot of the models of bikes that I had owned before. This place covered bikes from way back, up to about a couple of years ago, & I think that just about everyone there, more or less said the same thing "Should never have gotten rid of, blah, blah..."
I get the rush of blood to the head when I go tyre kicking, or read an article in a bike mag, or go seriously ape **** at a bike show, kind of makes me wish I was related to Bill Gates cause I'd probably buy a heap of em. I'm happy with my '98 CBR, yeah mines low kays to, & I keep it nice, I think that if & when I get the chance to plomp my backside on a new bike, I'd like to still have my trusty CBR in the garage as well.

Sounds like small ***** syndrome to me. I've smoked new 600's on my Dads 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 Z1R at the track. Yup, it's a relic, and mostly dangerous to ride (before the brake and suspension upgrade it was down right deadly at track speeds) but it sure is funny to see them get passed around the outside on an old tank. It really gets their attention when the flexi flier goes by weaving and wobbling through turn 1 at BIR. LOL. If it's two wheels sit back and enjoy it......who cares what they say?

Bikes have come a long way since our F3s, with their heavy steel frames and carburated engines. But 90% of the time it comes down to the rider.
I go to the bike show every year and drool on the new toys, but I intend to hold on to this bike for at least another few years.

i like carbs! besides i keep hearing that the ZX10r and the ZX6r don't get nearly the gas mileage I do. 35 for the 10r and 40 for the 6r. my F3 gets 45-52.

I get the same thing when I go racing. When I do a trackday the look of dispair onsome faces is priceless. Was fun when I rode an SV too (that thing a VTR? an RC51?). I used to clobber folks on R1s and the like on that little bike.'Specially when I pass someone on an expensive big twin.

I think as long as you're having fun and enjoying it, who cares? I just sold my new R6 to put some extra house funds in the bank (darn priorities!), and picked up my '91 F2 for next to nothing. Even though the 6 was paid for, I always felt the need for full ins. and that alone frustrated me. Especially if I didn't ride for a few weeks. I now pay $7/mo ins. on this thing and could care less if I don't get a chance to ride for a month or more.
I'll pick up a new/newer bike in the future when I get bored and find a killer deal. Until then, riding for basically the coat of gas alone is a blast!
