Hey guys,

Sold my F4i a year ago to get a supermoto and really missed it. Managed to pick up a 97 F3 from one of my customers for some trade work. Managed to get it with an extra engine for doing a timing belt on a Camry.

Anyways, I am wondering about any common issues on these. I fired it up today for the first time and noted a pretty good fuel leak. Will likely overhaul the carbs. Also only getting 12 volts at the battery when running, so pretty sure the stator is bad. Will do some troubleshooting since I downloaded a manual.

Also, any mods that are worthwhile? I have to to do some sort of undertail on it. It still has the stock one.

I wouldn't jump on the stator as the culprit.More than likely it's the regulator/rectifier.I just replaced one 3 weeks ago.This is the third time I've replaced one on a bike.

Btw, have you replaced it with used stock r/r's?
I replaced mine with one from an 02 gixxer and it works great
